The clean interface on Mapdango is super easy to use.. try it out; Enter any place name. Maybe a place you'll be traveling to soon or the place you live: Singapore, Louisville Kentucky, Auckland New Zealand etc.. and hit GO! On the results page Mapdango places a Google Map to the right and and mashed up content to the left. Content gets marked by color across the map. Data sources are few but valuable for any locaiton. They include:
- Weather - By Weatherbug
- Photos - By Flickr
- Articles - By Wikipedia
- Week's Events - By Eventful
- Concerts - By Grüvr (post)
- Google Maps and Google Maps for Mobile- Local business and Community Maps Searching
- Wikimapia - User created wiki-descriptions of everything around you
- Weatherbonk - Local weather and live cameras
- OnGMap - Endless source of mashed up content for any point on Google Maps
- Add Content to Google Maps - Create a customized Google Maps travel mashup for yourself with content (mapplets) from all over Google Maps!

Wow! Thanks for the kind words, Mike. We're excited to get the coverage on our little 'experiment.' It's funny though, as you posted the screenshot of mapdango just a few hours before we released a new and improved user interface. We hope folks enjoy using it.
And stay tuned, as we will be releasing 'mapdangito' later this week, which will allow users to integrate a smaller version of mapdango with blogs and other web sites.
Have a good one and thanks again!
Keep up the great posts on this site!
Andres
Greetings Mike,
I am great fan of your blog and mapping mashups. I am graduate student in Geography and I am writing my dissertation about online distributed mapping services, mashups and how they are affecting our spatial imaginations. Would it be possible to contact you in a less public forum concerning my research? I would email you, but your contact information is no longer available on your profile. If you would prefer to contact me, I think you can see my email as part of this comment, or you can contact me at my academic address:

or use the address under my bio on the Geography Department’s website:

Secondo voi manca qualcosa? ;)
Hi Mike,
Just a quick update on mapdango. We have now added mapdango Spy, which allows users to see real-time what locations others are exploring on mapdango. It's kind of like Digg Spy.
Cheers,
Andres
