Defkalion Kalogridis of Athens, Greece dropped me a line to fill me on some new Google Maps applications he has been building related to his home country:
All cinemas in Athens.. Mapped! - This Google Map mashes up with the largest cinema portal in Greece (Cinemanews) by showing all movie theaters in Athens. Movies being played in each location, showtimes and articles are all displayed. The mashup also displays the locations of subway and tram stations to make visiting these theaters convenient.
"Blue Flag" Beaches and Marinas - Explore the beautiful beaches of Greece with this mashup. This mashup displays all blue flag beaches and marinas throughout the country. Each map marker links off to the BlueFlag.org website with information about the beach. In order to earn the international blue flag a beach must adhere to a list of strict criteria that includes displaying information, living up to certain water quality standards and other safety and environmental requirements.Other Google Maps items for Greece:

There is also Seismo-Surfer .
It`s a WebGIS application for earthquakes in Greece and worldwide.
I also have some maps served on google maps platform. In fact i think as that these are the first google maps mashups ever served in Greece.
These maps are mainly enviromental maps. I mean areas that are protected for nature reservation ( national forests, natura 2000 areas, Ramsar sites, aisthetic forests aka scenic reserves, Important Bird Areas in Greece ) but there are some of more general interest.
That is archaelogical sites and traditionall villages, maybe a good suggestion for travelers destination :).

There is also a site at the Department Of Geography Of National Technical University (NTUA).
You can find there some examples of all kind of mapping mashups. These examples is a part of an advanced seminar in GIS. This seminar actually is a distance learning seminar with students from all over Greece and Cyprus. The URL is http://geography.survey.ntua.gr/
