Here is a new addition to the News-Map Category: Local News Map. Its creator, Juan Taylor, has created a way for folks in the USA and Europe to zoom into an area of a Google Map and run a keyword news search against the Google News database. Pins are then displayed where these local news article appear. Be a bit patient as your search runs and stay tuned for more regions to be added.

Google Maps + Google News = LocalNewsMap.com

Your submit button should be clearer. Insert 'keyword(s)' after the word 'Search'. I could not seem to get this thing going. It produced no results. I tried keywords "bank robbery" and "storm warning".
I'll have to see what's going on with the no results. I've just had alot of trouble with getting through to 'Google News' itself just now but I've noticed the no results before as well. But right now I can't get any results at all from this end. ..I'll figure it out.

It looks like I'm getting 502 Server Errors from Google right now. So after that calms down I'll see for sure.
I'll put something like 'insert keywords' somewhere!

Google News has two articles about the evacuation of the Philadelphia airport. LocalNewsMap.com reports not results for "Philadelphia airport"
How current is the version of Google News being accessed?
It just goes by the State name in the title for the U.S.
