Good Night Google Maps!

Here is a cool new Google Map created by Peter Pesti that takes the 128 megapixel NASA "Earth Lights" image that you might have seen before and adds a Google Map interface to it using the Google Maps API. He writes: "There are 7 zoom levels to it - no wonder, since the source image is so big, that I can't even display it on my home computer :)"

I can't map some of Malaysia city. But it's a great job that we can see some roads and building in Malaysia at low factor of zoom.

Looks like the hungarian site he is using to host the image files is not serving them anymore. Probably the Digg Effect.

Yes, the traffic was affecting Peter's image hosting but he's moved things over to a new host and everything is now resolving again.

What a great map!

Mike.

And it's my fault for being dugged. >:)

Mike, Ant... my big thanks goes to you! :) My 1st image host told me the traffic logs filled up their disk, LOL :)

Very nice idea! But he should've done something about the different map projections; for example, the "dusk" version of Sweden is way off.
