wondering how to let you know of another gmap site out there. DrinkDeal.com. They gmap the bar specials in New York City. Pretty Cool....
ooppss..sorry. The direct link is DrinkDeal.com Gmaps Page. Enjoy!!!
I came here off the NYT article.
I've pretty much followed the Satellite Footage/Google Earth side of the issue since it came out, and there is an abundance of really neat stuff for Google Earth (previously known as Keyhole). After Satellite Imagery and Google Earth came out I didn't really focus on the online map version, but apparently that's made even more astounding progress.
Anyway, it's an awesome resource you are providing here, so keep it up. Congrats on the publicity, too.
I've bookmarked the NYT article for a blog entry of my own later today, and I'll talk about some of your more interesting resource links there as well.
Like I said, keep it up, and you'll likely see me around in the form of entries for weeks to come.
How could the article have overlooked the two granddaddy Google Maps hacks, housingmaps.com and chicagocrime.org?
Here's an interesting Mashup that shows locations in New York City where movies and television shows were filmed.

Sorry, that's New York in the Movies
Apart from the commercial and near-commercial mashups, I wonder how many hobbyists and bloggers are integrating Google Maps.
I'm one; I've added maps to my photoblog:

Here's one for the small groups at our church. (Will only map to LA County addresses.)

I found this site from the NY Times article which I read on my Palm Pilot using the Avantgo service.
Thanks for creating this blog. My favorite so far is the Gmaps Pedometer.
For something that really could be revolutionary....
