In the location view, look for the link called "Show Nearby"...
Here is an example of the new feature that shows you the aerial view of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. If you are planning a trip to this destination, the feature will show you all area nearby attractions:

I love this and the other sightseeing sites, but I can't understand why they don't use the Google map itself to show sights. In particular, this site should show nearby sites as pushpins on the map.
Yes, that is an excellent idea. This would be fine for 'nearby' sights, but wouldn't do anything for showing the entire list. Further, I think the real benefit is to show entries by text, because some dots on a map don't really tell you which are most important.
It would be useful to show clusters of things though.
I have just found excellent site, great for sightseeing, visit http://www.maplandia.com, world gazetteer based on Google Maps.
