The first Google Maps China hack?

Google recently launched Google Local for China. According to this blogger, the Google Maps API cannot be used for the China street maps that exist for the new Google Bendi service. Here is his solution:

Well, it is not big deal. I read Google Maps client source code months ago. When I read china local maps, it really surprised me. It seems google tries to make things simple in the client. Whole browser side architecture is easy and clear. The most important parameter is "poiid" (point id). (Discuss later...) (check out the full post..)

This person has managed to integrate the Chinese MapABC.com map directly into this blog post. Could this be the first Google Maps hack for China?

I'm inclined to think that MapABC created the map program too. Kind of like how Mapquest used to provide Google Local with maps. In this case, MapABC may have added icons that Google uses. You can make maps straight from the MapABC website, and it's draggable too. Another Chinese map company, go2map, has draggable maps too. MapABC and go2maps have some neat additions, but run quite slowly compared to Google Maps or Virtual Earth. Even on the Bendi site the map took quite a while to load.
