One map on the Internet is a Hummer owner's dream: It plots the day's cheapest gas stations anywhere in the USA. Another shows single women looking for dates in any San Francisco neighborhood.
Another online map plots where every injury occurred along this year's route for the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. That way you can see, for example, that Jesus Angel Marino, 48, got horned not far from where a bull also stuck it to a local policeman.
Who'd have thought that the ubiquitous old Internet maps would become one of the Internet's coolest new tricks? Not long ago, that would've seemed as unlikely as a Paul Anka comeback.
But about a month ago, Google opened to the public a set of programming interfaces (called APIs) for its Google Maps. That means that anybody can take a set of data from one Web site and latch it onto Google Maps, creating something new. In the highly technical language of the propeller-head community, this is called a mash-up. (Read the entire article..)

It makes my life easier to see that I am not the only one with wet pants. The article describes the phenonenom so well that I will translate it for my mother.
Thanks for developing and managing this site. I love it. Moving forward, it looks like you are going to need a better way to catalog the maps so that users can more easily find things that interest them. Perhaps putting them into an online database might make sense. Let me know if you need any help.
One other thought...if you do create an online database...it might make sense to allow mashup creators to input their own entries into the database. You could set it up so that you review the entries before they are entered into the general database for all to see. This should cut down on the amount of time you spend managing and finding new mashups.

It's definitely something I'm considering as things continue to explode. For now, my links list is doing the trick, but as time passes this feature will have to graduate to something more functional.
